Detailed Imaging

Digital radiography (known as digital x-ray) uses an electronic sensor instead of traditional x-ray film to capture images of your teeth, jaw structure, and gums. The digital images are then easily stored directly to a computer in our office. The benefits of digital radiography include:

• Increased visibility of hard-to-see oral issues

Intraoral Scanner

Our state of the art intraoral scanner is used to capture a direct optical impression. Patients will no longer need to have impression material used on them. With this technology, patients will have their oral impressions taken virtually . The scanner projects a light source onto the area. The images are captured by imaging sensors and are processed by scanning software, which then produces a 3D surface model. Patients will be able to view what their new smile will look like immediately with a smile simulation!

Your Entire Mouth In A Single Scan

Dental cone beam computed tomography (CT) is a special type of x-ray equipment used when regular dental or facial x-rays are not sufficient. Dr. Kella may use this technology to produce three dimensional (3-D) images of your teeth, soft tissues, nerve pathways and bone in a single scan. We use this technology to:‍

• Plan surgical extractions for impacted teeth
• Diagnose temporomandibular joint disorder (TMJ)
• Ensure that implant placement is completely accurate
• Evaluate your jaw, sinuses, nerve canals, and nasal cavity
• Determine bone structure and tooth orientation
